for a uniform appearance, including tights, costume & hair Costumes will be sourced (funds permitting) with a view
to them being used in a number of different program pieces A uniform hair style is expected, a donut should be worn
at all training sessions with a red scrunchie, as well as competition and a hair decoration is generally incorporated with
the costume Personal jewellery must be removed at training sessions and competitions due to close contact between skaters.
Skaters will be required to purchase over the boot tights. Two pairs are required for each skater, all of the same make
and colour, at competitions we ask you to have 2 pairs of new tights. If your tights get a hole in them please mend this and
this will prolong the life of the tights, it is unsightly to see large holes in tights. Team practise wear is essential
Team costumes for competition will be sourced through fundraising & donations, and will be available on loan to
skaters for events Consent forms will be required from each team member for Web site, Press, photograph and Video coverage
An individual dress measurement sheet has to be completed for each skater in order to source the correct sizes. We
will have individual measurements taken to ensure that sizing is accurate Bullying We take all signs
of bullying very seriously and encourage all parents to speak and share the concerns with a member of the management committee
who will keep a record of what is said(what happened, by whom and when). There will be no tolerance of any member caught
bullying.
Child Protection Policy
We recognise that child protection should not be treated in isolation we will take on board guidance given by Highland Child
Protection Committee and will address recruitment and selection of volunteers and paid employees by doing the following.
We accept that it is our responsibility as a group to check that all adults in positions requiring disclosure checks have
been appropriately vetted. We ask all volunteers to be SCRO checked.
We will carry out a probationary period for all volunteers of at least 6 months.
We will notify Ministers if anyone on the Disqualified from Working with Children List applies to work for or volunteer
with our group.
We will remove from unsupervised contact with children any member of staff or volunteer whom we know or suspect to have
caused harm to a child or to have placed a child at risk of harm and we will notify Ministers of our actions and the reasons
for them, even if that person has left our group.
Any photographs that appear on the ISST website will only be posted once permission has been granted by the skaters parent
or guardian.
All photographs of the skaters will be shown with the child or children suitably dressed.
The Inverness Synchronized Skating Teams will take all steps to ensure these images are used solely for the purposes they
are intended.
Heather Brown will be your Child Protection Lead for now.
Vulnerable Adults Policy
The abuse of vulnerable adults constitutes a clear infringement of their rights and freedoms as citizens. This policy aims
to protect vulnerable adults, who are at risk of all forms of abuse, through the process of identifying, investigating, managing
and preventing such abuse.
As a Sports Association we are committed to promoting equality of opportunity to all members of our Synchonized Skating
Teams , skaters and management.
It is every adults right to live in safety and to be free from abuse or fear of abuse from others.
It is every adults right to live an independent life based on self-determination and personal choice.
An independent life style may involve risk for vulnerable adults.
It is the responsibility of all management members to actively work together to help prevent abuse of vulnerable adults.
This will be achieved by raising awareness, empowering people to make their own decisions and putting safeguards in place.
When a situation is discovered in which a vulnerable adult reports, or is thought to be at risk of abuse, then the management
members will react quickly in a co-ordinated manner to help them to overcome these difficulties.
The management recognises that people are discriminated against on the basis of race, culture, gender,
